English-Speaking Psychologist in Barcelona,

Welcome! I’m Ana, a General Health Psychologist and Psychotherapist (COPC nº 36227), offering individual and couples therapy in Barcelona and online. Sessions are available in English, Spanish, and Romanian. I work with adults who always put others first, but deep down are struggling with anxiety, self-criticism, and setting boundaries. If you’d like to prioritise yourself and feel more calm, confident, and finally at peace in your relationships, reach out below to schedule a free 60-min introduction session.

We all feel stuck in some way

Maybe for you it’s:

  • “I’m tired of taking care of everyone and everything.”
  • “If I say no, maybe they’ll get mad at me.”
  • “I am not doing enough. I don’t feel good enough.”
  • “Why do I keep attracting the wrong partner?”

These patterns are not flaws. They are often the result of earlier emotional experiences that continue to shape how we think, feel, and relate to others.

In therapy, we work with your thoughts, emotions, and body to understand and gradually change these patterns, helping you develop a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and control — both within yourself and in your relationships.

About me

Hi! I’m Ana, a General Health Psychologist and Psychotherapist in Barcelona (COPC nº 36227).

I want you know that before I was a therapist, I was a client, just like you. I know how this feels. I used to be constantly anxious, I was my worst critic, I compared myself to everyone around me, and nothing I did was ever good enough. On top of that everyone’s needs came first. Saying ‘no’ was difficult, because to me it meant people would leave. Therapy taught me how to trust myself and my own decisions, become empowered, take care of my needs, and most importantly how to be more self-compassionate. The right relationships, opportunities, and jobs starting flowing in after that.

Originally from Romania, I moved to the Netherlands to study psychology and completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology at Leiden University. Along the way, I trained in Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Integrative Psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Over the years I’ve worked in clinics, NGOs, and mental health centers, supporting survivors of physical and sexual abuse, as well as adults facing chronic anxiety and depression, trauma, psychotic disorders, personality disorders.

I currently work with both individuals and couples, with a focus on relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, burnout, and trauma. My approach is holistic and integrative, meaning I combine different therapeutic approaches depending on each person’s needs, while considering the connection between mind, body, and emotions.

Three years ago I came to Barcelona for the first time and that trip eventually turned into building a life here, something I’m still very grateful for.
